山間地に残っていた棚田も年々減反や耕作放棄が増えて、作付けは少なくなってきている。大型機械が入らないうえに農夫の高齢化による。心に残っているふるさとの風景であるとともに、受け継がれてきた農地の重みと、「見ぐさく(みっともなく）しておかない。」という農魂を感じてしまう。 In the Valleys of Minamiaizu there are few Tanada because they are difficult for older farmers to work.. Also large rice harvesting machines can not get to them easily.
